We are getting super excited as we count down the days to our London event where we can’t wait to meet everybody! Whether you are still on maternity leave and looking for a way to balance work with childcare, or you are looking to start up your own business and need some advice, you will find everything you need at our roadshow.
In fact, there is so much going on, from our amazing exhibitors, to our inspiring workshops that we want to make sure you don’t miss out on anything, and make the most of your day with us in the capital. So here are ten ways you can make the most of your visit to the Mum’s Enterprise Roadshow this month:
1. Book your place
Firstly, make sure you have booked your place and downloaded your tickets so that you are assured entry to this amazing event which brings together many exhibitors who you won’t find anywhere else. It’s free to attend as a delegate so go straight to our ticket page and book your place now.
2. Plan your travel
The Roadshow is taking place at the Business Design Centre in Islington, so plan your journey so that you can make the most of the whole day at the event. Visit our event page for the full details of the venue and how to get there, so you can plan ahead and not miss a single minute.
3. Check out our exhibitor list in advance
We have a full list of all our exhibitors available on the website so check them all out and see if there are any who you want to visit in particular, so you can make sure you head to their stand first and book time in to talk with them.
4. Go to the Cashplus Business Workshop
“Getting it right from the start: setting up your business properly” is the title of the workshop being offered by our Startup Zone sponsor, Cashplus Business. This workshop will explore all of the things you need to consider when setting up your business from the outset so it’s a must for all would-be mumpreneurs. Cashplus offers digital alternatives to the traditional business bank account, saving startups high bank fees.
5. Don’t miss the Flexible Work And Careers Zone
Make sure you check out the Flexible Work and Careers Zone where you can take part in free 1-2-1 career advice sessions with our zone sponsor Tideway. If you have always wanted to find alternatives to working 9-5 and that daily commute then make sure you head over to this area of the show and book your 1-2-1 session with our experts.
6. Visit The Exhibition
Of course, the main part of the event is the exhibition so be sure to take time to visit all 60 of our exhibitors who each offer unique support for mums, from retraining to job/work opportunities, from support to business services. Whether you are looking to explore aspects of flexible working or building your own business, our exhibition brings everything you need together under one roof. We have zoned the exhibtion so you can easily find what you are looking for and meet those most relevant to you on the day. View all exhibitors here
7. Check out the free workshops
Alongside the exhibition, we are running over 12, 30minute workshops on a variety of topics relating to business and returning to work so if there are key skills you need to learn, or areas you are looking for inspiration in, then don’t forget to check out the workshop agenda and make your way over to the ones of interest to you, during the day.
8. Spend some time at The Open Mic Story Stage
If you are looking for inspiration and enjoy hearing about other people’s success stories then make sure you check out the Story Stage where you can hear about how other mum’s just like you, made changes to their working lives and what they did to be successful. You can share your own story too!
9. Take part in our speed networking
We will be hosting two speed networking sessions at the London event so make sure you sign up to take part so that you can meet as many relevant people as possible at the event, who could help to make the change in your working life that you desire.
10. Gather as much information as possible
Whether you are coming along with a specific goal in mind, or you just have a need to change your working life but don’t know where to go next, make the most of the event to gather as much information as you can about all of the opportunities and services available as you never know which will be useful to you as you move forward on your career journey. Have lots of conversations, pick up flyers, gather business cards, make notes on the talks and get as much as you can out of the day.
Hopefully these top 10 tips will ensure that you make the most of the day in London with us and we can’t wait to meet you very soon!
